Technology - traditional vs new

Traditional:

Traditional methods of application for roofing systems can require temperatures in excess of +500°C to +800°C using gas torches, burners under bitumen boilers and hot air or hot gas guns. Often the danger is not immediately apparent as many roofing materials smoulder for some time, before igniting. In other cases, fire can develop across the entire spread of a building in less than 20 minutes. Not only does heat represent a risk to the building but there are also health and safety concerns for the installers and building occupiers. The potential fire hazard has led many companies to ban heat applied systems on their roofs.

New technology:

A built-up roofing system using Decostik®, a NEW cold fusion bonded roofing adhesive. Decostik® exhibits excellent adhesion due to its ability to penetrate fibrous substrates and surface irregularities in non-porous substrates forming an intimate cold fusion bond. The new cold applied formulation exceeds the highest industry standards for roofing systems and avoids the problems associated with hot works, such as a high fire risk and ever increasing insurance premiums.

Proven track record:

Decothane seamless ‘cap sheet’ systems are used as the top layer of the cold fusion bonded built-up roofing system. All Decothane systems require zero heat, zero flame application and have the highest fire rating once installed. Decothane systems are consistently relied upon by some of the most prestigious companies and organisations in the world such as Rolls Royce, Volvo, Marks & Spencer and Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre (NEC).
